Group: MSS Clearance Level Needed: Secret Shift: Day Category: Information Technology The DBA Manager will manage and direct the activities of Database Administrators in support of the Navy&s Shipyard suite of applications across 3 team environments: infrastructure support (ops), development, and maintenance. The candidate selected for this role will work with limited direction and be a self-starter and manage resources within a project schedule; consistently deliver high-quality services to clients; participate in generation of full software development lifecycle (SDLC) products and mentor those with less experience through informal channels. The ideal person will have prior DBA experience as well as possess personal qualities to include developing relationships with client personnel that foster ties with our clients; communicating effectively with clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions with project management. Continually seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships and manage client expectations effectively. Additional tasks of the DBA manager include but are not limited to: Translate technical issues and break down technical and architectural complexities so that project stakeholders can easily understand what DBA&s are doing and why they need to do it, including explanations of the basis of schedules and estimates. Manage relationships and coordinate work between different teams at different locations Identify best use of DBA&s across multiple teams to increase efficiency and effectiveness and mitigate stovepipes of knowledge. Assist DBA&s in communicating with project stakeholders and subject matter experts. Represent project stakeholders to the DBA team throughout the SDLC. Assist in the facilitation of team and client meetings. Deliver informative, well-organized presentations. Understand how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully. Experience and familiarity with NAVSEA National and Shipyard stakeholders involved in the use and support of (CDMD-OA, SLDCADA, CATS, RMAIS, ATIS, AIM, AIMxp, MAT, MRQT, SUPDESK, SABRS, NMS, COST, PSS, ATMS, SAEM, PPPP, NWPS and QDB), and familiarity with RMCs and Fleet stakeholders is a strong plus. A secret clearance is required.
